“Lion Run Babylon,” in cooperation with Al-Mustaqbal University, the Babylon Directorate of Youth and Sports, and Lion Gym Center, launched a mobile weekly marathon program as a field initiative aimed at strengthening the role of academic institutions in community service and promoting health awareness.
The sporting carnival kicked off from Al-Kornish Street in Al-Seha District, with notable participation from faculty members and students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Mustaqbal University, alongside widespread attendance and engagement from various youth groups.
The initiative goes beyond being merely a sporting event; it carries a message aimed at motivating young people, promoting sports culture, enhancing physical activity and mental well-being, and establishing sports as a way of life.
To ensure the sustainability of the initiative and expand community participation, it was decided that the marathon would be held every Friday morning, moving between various neighborhoods and vital areas across Babylon Governorate.
The program aims to reach the largest possible number of young people and families, strengthen the participation of Al-Mustaqbal University’s students and faculty in health and community initiatives, and consolidate effective partnerships among government institutions, academic institutions, and the private sports sector.
Sports are not merely a passing event; they are a way of life and a community culture that builds minds and bodies and empowers young people.
