Ms. Duaa Saad prepared a scientific article entitled “Measurement and Assessment Tools.” Measurement and assessment are considered fundamental pillars of the educational process, particularly in the field of Emergency Medical Techniques. They are not limited to measuring theoretical knowledge but also include evaluating practical and clinical skills and the student’s ability to deal with emergency cases quickly and accurately. The Department of Emergency Medical Techniques at Al-Mustaqbal University aims to prepare scientifically and practically qualified graduates to work in hospitals and emergency centers. The Measurement and Assessment Unit contributes to developing methods and tools for evaluating students’ academic achievement and skills, as well as supporting instructors in preparing examinations and analyzing their results. The most important measurement and assessment tools include: Written examinations: To measure students’ understanding of scientific information and concepts. Oral examinations: To assess clinical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills. Practical examinations: To evaluate students’ ability to apply practical skills, such as first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and measuring vital signs. Observation checklists: To evaluate students’ performance according to specific steps and criteria, ensuring objectivity and fairness. OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination): To assess clinical skills through multiple stations involving different emergency situations and practical skills. Continuous assessment: To monitor students’ performance throughout the semester through activities, quizzes, and practical applications. Questionnaires and feedback: To obtain students’ opinions and help them improve their performance. The importance of these tools lies in measuring academic achievement and practical skills, identifying students’ strengths and weaknesses, improving teaching and practical training methods, ensuring the achievement of learning outcomes, and supporting the quality of education and academic accreditation. Therefore, effective assessment does not aim merely to assign grades; rather, it aims to ensure that students possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and decision-making abilities.
