Al-Mustaqbal University explored prospects for international cooperation in developing the linguistic and academic skills of students and graduates during a virtual meeting attended by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and representatives of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United States and OHLA Institute, a global strategic partner for TOEFL/ETS tests. The meeting aimed to discuss the development of specialized training programs that respond to the academic and professional needs of participants. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at Al-Mustaqbal University; Dr. Hussein Al-Sheikh, Representative of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché; Dr. Alaa Shakir; representatives of OHLA Institute, including Jenny Nevin, Mahsa Tavakoli, and Karen Ghahramaniants; as well as Prof. Dr. Wael Al-Nadawi, Director of the Continuing Education Center at Al-Mustaqbal University, along with a number of staff members from the Center and the University Presidency. Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi emphasized that the proposed cooperation represents an important step toward empowering students and graduates with advanced English language skills, enhancing their readiness for international academic and professional opportunities. He noted that the training programs will be designed according to participants’ needs and proficiency levels, with diverse pathways covering TOEFL preparation, the development of English communication skills for business purposes, and the preparation of students seeking to pursue postgraduate studies at international universities and educational institutions. The meeting also discussed mechanisms for implementing cooperation between Al-Mustaqbal University and OHLA Institute, including the possibility of designing flexible and specialized training programs that take into account participants’ varying proficiency levels and educational and professional objectives. The discussions also highlighted the importance of benefiting from international expertise and globally recognized practices in English language education and preparation for international examinations. This initiative aligns with Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategy to expand its network of international academic partnerships, enhance the skills of its students and graduates, and strengthen their readiness to engage in global academic and professional environments. It also supports the University’s commitment to providing quality education based on continuous development and responsiveness to future requirements and labor market needs.
