The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the launch of the first stage of the unified university admission procedures for the 2026–2027 academic year, beginning on Monday, September 21, 2026. This stage includes creating an electronic account and authenticating students’ data. The Ministry called on graduates of preparatory schools, vocational education, Islamic studies, as well as other categories of students who do not have login credentials for the “Qadam Platform” application, to access the application, select the “I Do Not Have Login Information” option, create a new account, and complete the required information. This stage enables students to book an electronic appointment to visit verification and authentication centers at government universities near their places of residence. These centers will verify students’ accounts and information and authenticate them in preparation for the launch of applications to the unified university admission channels. The verification and authentication centers include a number of government universities across various Iraqi governorates: University of Baghdad, Al-Mustansiriyah University, University of Technology, University of Basrah, University of Mosul, University of Dhi Qar, University of Misan, Wasit University, University of Al-Muthanna, University of Kufa, University of Al-Qadisiyah, University of Babylon, University of Karbala, University of Anbar, University of Diyala, Tikrit University, and University of Kirkuk. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research urged eligible students to create their accounts, complete their information, and book verification and authentication appointments starting Monday, September 21, 2026. Students are also advised to follow the official instructions and adhere to the specified deadlines to ensure that all requirements are completed before the unified university admission channels are opened. These procedures are part of efforts to organize the university admission process and facilitate students’ access to electronic educational services. They also contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, through the use of digital solutions in educational services.
