The Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, received Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Khafaji, Head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate – Babylon Branch, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Jubouri. The meeting focused on prospects for joint cooperation and ways to advance academic work in a manner that supports the educational process and strengthens its connection with professional practice. The meeting addressed the College’s preparations for the new academic year and the ongoing efforts to provide the academic and organizational requirements necessary to create an appropriate learning environment for students and enable faculty members to perform their academic and scientific duties efficiently. Curriculum development was among the key topics discussed during the meeting. The two sides explored opportunities to benefit from the academic expertise available within the Syndicate through participation in the College’s Advisory Council and expert committees, contributing to the modernization of academic programs and ensuring their alignment with current scientific and technological developments. Strengthening connections with the labor market also received particular attention. The participants emphasized the importance of establishing more effective partnerships with government institutions, companies, and the private sector to provide practical training and professional development opportunities and to prepare graduates with the knowledge and skills required by the labor market. The discussions also covered cooperation in organizing workshops, seminars, and scientific activities aimed at developing students’ skills and promoting the exchange of expertise among academics. Particular attention was given to supporting initiatives that serve the community and state institutions while strengthening the College’s scientific and professional engagement. The meeting further highlighted the importance of supporting faculty members, encouraging their scientific and research contributions, and strengthening cooperation with the Iraqi Academics Syndicate to safeguard academics’ rights and foster scientific research and excellence in university performance. The meeting concluded with both sides emphasizing the importance of maintaining continuous communication between the College of Engineering Technologies and the Iraqi Academics Syndicate – Babylon Branch and expanding areas of cooperation to enhance the quality of education, develop students’ skills, and strengthen the alignment between academic outcomes and labor market requirements.
