The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, inaugurated the Lab Mentor platform for smart laboratory education in the laboratories of the Department of Biochemistry at the College of Science. The launch was attended by Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision; Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, Dean of the College of Science; and Dr. Nasser Abdul-Hassan Nasser, Head of the Department of Biochemistry. This initiative represents a significant step toward developing practical education and enhancing the use of modern technologies within the laboratory environment. The initiative comes as part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision of transitioning toward a smart university, reflecting the University Presidency’s commitment to providing advanced technologies and digital solutions that contribute to developing the educational and training environment, ensuring the efficient and safe implementation of practical experiments, and supporting the automation of academic, administrative, and laboratory processes. The Lab Mentor platform provides comprehensive educational and instructional content that helps students become familiar with laboratory devices and equipment, their components and functions, and the mechanisms for operating them and complying with safety requirements. It also guides students through the steps of conducting practical experiments, serving as a smart support tool throughout their learning and practical application. The launch of the platform represents a step toward reshaping the laboratory learning experience through a more interactive and organized model that integrates technology, practical education, and automation. This contributes to enhancing students’ proficiency in using laboratory technologies and improving their scientific and practical readiness. This project further demonstrates Al-Mustaqbal University’s continued commitment to leveraging technology and innovation to develop its educational infrastructure and translate its vision of building a smart and sustainable university that keeps pace with the rapid transformations in higher education and provides students with an advanced learning environment based on the latest digital solutions and smart technologies.
