Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the 12th International Workshop on Green and Sustainable Universities (IWGM 2026), held at Trier University of Applied Sciences – Birkenfeld Environmental Campus in Germany from 24 to 27 August 2026, with the participation of University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi. The workshop was held under the theme “Enhancing Sustainable Campuses through Governance, Digitalization, and Integrated Performance.” It addressed scientific themes and institutional practices related to advancing sustainability in higher education institutions and enhancing the use of governance and digital transformation to support universities’ environmental and academic performance. The participation of Al-Mustaqbal University provided an opportunity to explore the latest international trends and practices in university sustainability and exchange expertise with participating academic institutions. This contributes to the University’s efforts to develop a sustainable campus environment and strengthen its presence in relevant international initiatives and rankings. At the conclusion of the workshop, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi was awarded a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his participation in the workshop’s activities, highlighting Al-Mustaqbal University’s engagement in international events concerned with sustainability and the advancement of higher education.
