Department of Anesthesia Techniques Organizes Scientific Visit for Students to the Iraqi-Korean Hospital in Medical City

As part of Al Mustaqbal University’s commitment to strengthening practical education and bridging theoretical knowledge with clinical practice, the Department of Anesthesia Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies organized a scientific field visit for its students to the Iraqi-Korean Hospital in Medical City on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The visit aimed to familiarize students with the clinical work environment and enhance their practical experience in anesthesia and critical care. The visit was supervised by the Department’s Rapporteur, Assistant Professor Dr. Baha Fadel Hamza, with the participation of Dr. Miaad Adnan, Specialist in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, and Teaching Assistant Ali Qasim Jawad. The visit included a field tour of the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where students gained firsthand insight into the workflow within these critical units, patient care procedures, and methods of monitoring patients’ clinical conditions. They were also introduced to the medical equipment used in these units, including its functions and proper use in patient monitoring and the provision of advanced care. The students also received explanations of the clinical procedures and protocols followed in assessing patients and transferring cases requiring intensive care to the ICU, in addition to the approaches used to manage and monitor patients in accordance with established medical practices. The visit forms part of the scientific and practical program of the Department of Anesthesia Techniques, which aims to develop students’ clinical skills and enhance their ability to apply academic knowledge in real clinical settings. This contributes to preparing qualified anesthesia professionals capable of efficiently meeting the requirements of professional practice. At the conclusion of the visit, the Department of Anesthesia Techniques expressed its appreciation to the administration and medical and healthcare teams of the Iraqi-Korean Hospital for their warm reception and valuable cooperation, which contributed to the success of the visit and the achievement of its educational objectives.
