Prof. Dr. Alaa Dhari Jawad, Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries at the College of Engineering, Future University, conducted a training course specifically for teaching assistants in the department, covering laboratory equipment and the proper methods for operating and using it. The course included a detailed explanation of the most important laboratory equipment used in the department’s labs, along with an introduction to their operating principles, start-up and shutdown procedures, as well as the procedures to be followed to maintain the equipment and ensure the accuracy of results and the safety of users. The course also featured practical applications and hands-on training for teaching assistants on operating and handling the equipment, along with an explanation of key laboratory safety precautions and ways to avoid errors that could affect the equipment’s efficiency or the results of experiments. Prof. Dr. Alaa Dhari Jawad emphasized that holding such courses is part of the department’s commitment to developing teaching assistants’ skills, enhancing their practical and technical competence, and strengthening their ability to manage laboratories and operate equipment efficiently—all of which contribute to supporting the educational process and elevating the level of hands-on training for students. This course is part of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries’ efforts to develop the laboratory environment and strengthen the practical aspect of education, in line with the College of Engineering and Future University’s commitment to achieving standards of quality and academic excellence.
