The University was represented by the Director of the Future Centre for Artificial Intelligence Applications, Prof. Dr. Mahdi Abadi Manea, amid broad Arab participation involving representatives from 10 Arab countries and more than 76 research centres from across the Arab world. The first day featured a series of specialised scientific sessions, most notably a lecture entitled “The Arab Ranking of Research Centres,” delivered by the Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Planning and Governance, Prof. Dr. Yasser Refaat, alongside Dr. Mohamed Al-Aissali, Vice President of Analytical Services and Data at Elsevier. The programme also included a lecture on innovation in the Arab region delivered by Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed Ibrahim from Elsevier, followed by a key session addressing the impact of artificial intelligence on scientific research, delivered by Dr. Ayman Aqeel, Director of the Consulting Department at Clarivate. On the sidelines of the first day’s activities, the Al-Mustaqbal University delegation worked to strengthen channels of cooperation and communication with a number of Arab research leaders and representatives of specialised global institutions, particularly Elsevier and Clarivate, as well as research centres participating in the Arab Network. Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, scientific publishing, research performance analysis, academic rankings, capacity building, and the development of joint research projects. Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation in the conference forms part of its vision to strengthen its scientific presence beyond the local sphere, engage with Arab and international research institutions, activate high-quality cross-border agreements and partnerships, and leverage them to produce joint research and scientific projects capable of generating tangible impact on international rankings and research indicators.
