The Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries at Future University organized an awareness workshop titled “Occupational Health and Safety in Chemistry Laboratories,” presented by Engineer Ahmed Abbas, with the aim of raising awareness of occupational safety principles and increasing adherence to safety procedures within chemistry laboratories. The workshop addressed the most significant risks associated with laboratory work and methods for safely handling chemicals and laboratory equipment, as well as the importance of using personal protective equipment, adhering to instructions and guidelines for the safe storage and handling of chemicals, and responding appropriately to emergencies. The workshop also emphasized the importance of following safety and preventive measures to reduce accidents and injuries and to create a safe laboratory environment for students, faculty, and technical staff.
