The Legal Unit at the College of Education, University of Al-Mustaqbal, held a legal awareness seminar on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, for students of the Department of Quranic Sciences. The seminar addressed the authority of individuals to arrest persons under Iraqi law. The seminar was delivered by Asst. Lecturer Ali Ayed Al-Zuhairi, a faculty member at the college. The seminar discussed the circumstances in which individuals are legally permitted to exercise the right to arrest persons under the Iraqi Code of Criminal Procedure, with the aim of maintaining social security and public order. It also addressed the legal restrictions governing the exercise of this right, as well as the safeguards provided by law to protect individuals who carry out arrests in cases covered by Article 102 of the applicable Code of Criminal Procedure.
