The Animal Production Technologies Department at the College of Agricultural Technologies, Al-Mustaqbal University, held a scientific workshop entitled “Sustainable Nutrition for Fattening Calves and Improving Feed Conversion Efficiency.” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Rasha Fajr at the Pharmacy Building. The workshop addressed the importance of sustainable nutrition in raising fattening calves and its role in improving feed conversion efficiency and enhancing feed utilization, thereby contributing to increased growth rates and reduced production costs. It also highlighted the importance of adopting modern animal feeding methods and improving feed resource management to support the development of animal production and achieve sustainability in the agricultural sector. The workshop included discussions of several scientific aspects related to formulating balanced feed rations and selecting appropriate feed sources, as well as their role in improving calf health and increasing growth rates and productivity. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of employing modern technologies and sustainable practices in feeding management to reduce feed resource waste and achieve better economic and environmental outcomes in fattening projects. This workshop is part of the scientific activities organized by the Animal Production Technologies Department to enhance students’ scientific knowledge, develop their skills in animal production, and keep pace with modern developments in sustainable feeding practices. Al-Mustaqbal University ranks first among private universities in Iraq.
