# The Department of Animal Production Technologies at the University of Al-Mustaqbal Organizes a Training Workshop on Blood Sampling and Hormone Testing in Sheep As part of its efforts to strengthen practical training and develop the skills of students and researchers, the Department of Animal Production Technologies at the College of Agricultural Technologies, University of Al-Mustaqbal, organized a scientific and training workshop entitled **“Methods of Blood Sampling and Hormone Testing Techniques in Sheep.” The workshop was delivered by the department’s academic staff members, Asst. Lect. Sarour Hafiz Mohammed and Asst. Lect. Rasha Fajr Kazar. The workshop covered several scientific and practical topics, most notably: 1. Blood Sampling: A theoretical explanation and practical demonstration of blood collection methods in sheep through the jugular vein, while adhering to safety standards and animal welfare principles. 2. Laboratory Sample Preparation: An overview of the procedures for handling blood samples and distributing them into designated tubes according to the type of test required. 3. Blood Tests and Hormone Analysis: A review of the procedures for processing, separating, and preparing samples for laboratory testing and hormone analysis, thereby supporting scientific research and veterinary and animal studies. The workshop witnessed active engagement from students and attendees, including scientific questions and discussions, as well as a demonstration of proper laboratory practices that contribute to improving the accuracy of results and enhancing research efficiency. This workshop is part of the College of Agricultural Technologies’ ongoing efforts at the University of Al-Mustaqbal to develop students’ practical skills and strengthen their scientific expertise in line with the requirements of scientific research and professional practice.
