As part of its efforts to promote digital literacy and strengthen cybersecurity awareness, the Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technology at Al-Mustaqbal University highlights the importance of protecting users from cyber risks and threats through an educational brochure featuring practical guidelines for safe digital practices. These include verifying links before clicking, avoiding suspicious messages and unknown attachments, using strong and unique passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, protecting personal information, reviewing application permissions, using secure networks, and keeping systems and applications up to date. The brochure also outlines the appropriate steps to take when encountering online fraud attempts, including avoiding suspicious links, preserving evidence, and reporting incidents to the relevant authorities. This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, by promoting knowledge and developing digital skills, and Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by raising awareness of cyber threats and contributing to a safer digital environment. It reflects the Department’s commitment to promoting cybersecurity awareness and encouraging responsible and secure technology use, emphasizing that stopping, verifying, and protecting are essential steps in preventing digital risks. Al-Mustaqbal University ranks first among private universities in Iraq.
