Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education, Asst. Prof. Dr Ahmed Rawdan Salman, the Psychological Counselling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Education, headed by Prof. Dr Thanaa Bahaa Al-Din Abdullah, held an awareness workshop entitled “Work Stress and Its Relationship to the Mental Health of Employees at Babil Provincial Council” on Monday, 19 October 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in the Babil Provincial Council Hall. The workshop discussed the findings of a field study conducted among council employees, highlighting the main sources of work-related stress and their effects on employees’ mental health and job performance. It also presented a set of scientific solutions, recommendations, and proposals aimed at reducing work stress, promoting mental well-being, and creating a positive work environment that contributes to improving performance and productivity. The workshop witnessed notable interaction from participants, who praised the importance of the topic and the insights gained from its discussions and recommendations. They also emphasized the need for future awareness workshops and programmes to develop skills for managing occupational stress and strengthening the ability to cope with it, thereby positively affecting mental health and job stability. This initiative reflects the College of Education at Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to strengthening its scientific and community role, promoting cooperation with state institutions, and applying academic and psychological expertise to address issues affecting employees and society.
