Professor Dr. Haider Jabbar Al-Janabi delivered a scientific lecture on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, to fourth-year students in the Department of Computer Engineering Technology at Al-Mustaqbal University, as part of the Mobile Communications course. The lecture was entitled “The Cellular Concept and System Design.” The lecture covered the fundamental concepts of cellular networks and the mechanisms involved in their design and operation. It highlighted the basic architecture of GSM networks and the components of mobile communication systems. It also explained radio frequency planning (RF Planning), frequency reuse, wireless channel management, and handover mechanisms to ensure uninterrupted connectivity as users move between cells. In addition, the lecture addressed methods for reducing radio interference, improving signal quality and coverage efficiency, and increasing network capacity to ensure optimal use of frequency resources and telecommunications infrastructure. The lecture aimed to develop students’ scientific and engineering skills, strengthen their ability to analyze wireless network performance, and deepen their understanding of the fundamental principles of mobile communication system design. It also sought to connect theoretical knowledge with modern practical applications, helping prepare qualified engineering professionals to meet labor market demands and keep pace with digital transformation. This academic activity aligns with Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure). It supports technical and engineering education, encourages innovation, and advances scientific knowledge related to developing more efficient and sustainable communication networks, thereby contributing to digital infrastructure and community development. Al-Mustaqbal University is the leading private university in Iraq.
