Department of Forensic Science at Al-Mustaqbal University Holds a Scientific Workshop on Clotting Time and Bleeding Time As part of its ongoing scientific and academic activities aimed at enhancing students' scientific knowledge and developing their laboratory skills, the Department of Forensic Science at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, held a scientific workshop entitled "Clotting Time and Bleeding Time," presented by Assistant Lecturer Bushra Hussein Atiya. The workshop addressed the physiological mechanisms of blood coagulation and hemostasis, highlighting the differences between clotting time and bleeding time. It also explained the essential roles of platelets and coagulation factors in maintaining normal hemostasis and preventing excessive blood loss following injuries. Furthermore, the workshop discussed laboratory methods used to measure bleeding time and clotting time, the factors affecting test results, and the importance of these measurements in understanding bleeding and coagulation disorders. Special attention was given to their relevance in medical and forensic applications, particularly in interpreting the body's physiological responses to wounds and injuries. The workshop aimed to strengthen students' practical knowledge, develop their laboratory testing and analytical skills, and connect theoretical concepts with practical applications in forensic science. This scientific activity reflects the department's continued commitment to promoting scientific education, improving students' academic and professional competencies, and maintaining high standards of educational quality. Al-Mustaqbal University Ranks First Among Iraqi Universities.
