The Department of Biology at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, conducted a scientific workshop entitled “How to Use the Dissecting Microscope in Scientific Laboratories” on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hassan Khudair Abbas at Biology Laboratory 204. The workshop covered the working principle of the dissecting microscope, its main components, and its use in specimen examination. It also explained the procedures for adjusting focus and magnification and handling laboratory specimens correctly, highlighting the importance of this type of microscope in examining the external structures of living organisms and studying biological specimens. The workshop aimed to develop students’ practical skills and familiarize them with the correct techniques for using a dissecting microscope, thereby enhancing their laboratory experience and connecting theoretical knowledge with practical applications in biological sciences. This workshop is part of the Department of Biology’s scientific activities aimed at improving students’ laboratory skills and expanding their knowledge of the instruments and techniques used in biological applications.
