Forensic Science Department Holds Practical Workshop on Bleeding Time and Clotting Time in Laboratory 103
As part of its commitment to strengthening practical education and developing students' laboratory skills, the Department of Forensic Science at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a scientific workshop entitled "Bleeding Time and Clotting Time," presented by Assistant Lecturer Abdullah Riyadh Abdulhamza, in Laboratory 103.
The workshop focused on the physiological mechanisms of hemostasis, highlighting the differences between bleeding time and clotting time and explaining the essential roles of platelets and coagulation factors in preventing excessive blood loss following injuries.
The workshop also included practical explanations of laboratory methods used to measure bleeding time and clotting time, emphasizing factors that may influence test results, measurement accuracy, and appropriate laboratory safety procedures.
Furthermore, the workshop highlighted the scientific importance of these tests in understanding bleeding and coagulation disorders and their relevance to medical and forensic applications, particularly in studying physiological responses to wounds and injuries.
The activity aimed to enhance students' practical laboratory competencies, strengthen their observation and analytical skills, and connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications in forensic science.
This scientific workshop reflects the Department of Forensic Science's continued commitment to promoting laboratory-based education, improving students' academic and professional skills, and preparing qualified graduates for future scientific and forensic work.
