Under the patronage of the respected Dean of the College of Education, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Roudhan Salman, the Department of English organized an awareness workshop entitled:
“Anti-Drug Week: Towards a Sustainable, Drug-Free Society.”
The workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Jundi, with the attendance of a group of faculty members, lecturers, and students.
During the workshop, Dr. Ahmed Jundi highlighted the dangers of drug abuse and its direct impact on family and societal disintegration, in addition to its negative effects on an individual’s mental and physical health. He also addressed the causes leading to deviation toward this harmful phenomenon, emphasizing the importance of raising community awareness and activating the role of educational institutions in prevention and education.
The workshop also featured active discussions involving students and attendees, focusing on the importance of adopting sustainable strategies to reduce the spread of drugs and empowering youth to contribute to building a conscious and responsible society free from behavioral deviations.
This workshop comes as part of a series of programs implemented by the College of Education aimed at promoting health and behavioral awareness and reinforcing the concepts of sustainability in protecting both individuals and society.
