President of Al-Mustaqbal University Participates in the Closing of the Iraq Education Conference 2025 and Affirms the University’s Leading Role in Advancing Higher Education

The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, participated in the closing activities of the second edition of the Iraq Education Conference 2025, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the University of Baghdad from 11–13 October, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and in the presence of the Scientific Undersecretary, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahd, along with a distinguished group of university presidents, deans, researchers, experts, and representatives of international institutions.
The final day of the conference witnessed a series of specialized panel discussions addressing strategic themes related to the development of the higher education system in Iraq. Most notably, a session focused on science and technology parks and business incubators, during which the Ministry’s achievements in this field were reviewed, along with prospects for building a sustainable knowledge-based economy and strengthening university entrepreneurship. Another session was dedicated to discussing the implementation of the Bologna Process in Iraqi universities, the challenges associated with it, and the supporting legislative and regulatory frameworks.
The discussions concluded with a set of recommendations emphasizing the importance of benefiting from leading international experiences, promoting a culture of entrepreneurship, and creating sustainable job opportunities, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
It is worth noting that the President of Al-Mustaqbal University also participated in the opening day of the conference, during which Al-Mustaqbal University was honored with four distinguished scientific awards by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, after ranking first among private universities in Iraq in three major research fields:
• Engineering and Technological Sciences,
• Medical and Health Sciences,
• Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences.
In addition, the university received the First Outstanding Private University Award in Iraq for 2024 as part of the Iraqi Science Day Awards, in recognition of its institutional excellence and leadership in the quality of education, scientific research, and community service.
Al-Mustaqbal University also maintained a strong and distinguished presence throughout the conference days through the wide participation of its faculty members and researchers in scientific sessions and specialized workshops held alongside the conference, reflecting its influential role in shaping the future of higher education and scientific research in Iraq.
In a media statement, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi affirmed that this participation comes as part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing approach to strengthening partnerships with the Ministry of Higher Education and international institutions, and to consolidating its position as a pioneering and active university that contributes seriously to achieving sustainable development and building a knowledge-based economy in Iraq.
