College of Engineering & Technology Organizes its 2nd Engineering Forum for Graduation Projects

Under the Guardianship of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, with the Supervision of Assist Prof Dr. Azher M. Abid, Dean of Engineering & Technology College, and in cooperation with Engineering College at University of Babylon, the Second Engineering Forum for Graduation Projects has been organized.
The Forum has been addressing several issues that can be summarized as follows:
• Mechanical & Thermal Applications
• Renewable & Clean Energy Applications
• Reducing Fossil Fuel Reliance
• Environment Preservation & Reduction of Global Warming
• Carbon Footprint & Reduction of Gas Emissions
• Electronic Remote Sensing Systems
• Oil & Petrochemical Industries
It is remarkable to note that around 60 Projects have been submitted to the Forum by the Participating Departments that are listed below:
• Department of Mechanical Engineering & Department of Electrical Engineering (Babylon University)
• Department of Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineering, and Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries (Al-Mustaqbal University)
The Forum has been launched with the Preparatory Committee Speech, which has been delivered by Assist Prof. Dr. Alaa Dhari Al-Bayati, Head of Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries, in which he has welcomed the Guests as well as the Academics and Students, clarifying the role exerted by both Universities in supporting and sponsoring Students’ Innovations, and thus motivating them to get involved in all types of Scientific Activities.
After that, Engineer Mr. Ali, Director of Babylon Incubators has talked about the role of business incubators in providing opportunities to job seekers, and enabling them to establish their own projects as well. On her turn, Manager of Planning at Babylon Environment has delivered a speech, in which she has addressed Climate Changes and their essential Effect on Environment. The Forum indeed has comprised several activities, including an Exhibition where Students have displayed their Graduation Projects.
At the end of the Forum, Distinguished Projects have been honored with shields and Souvenirs submitted by Al-Mustaqbal University, in addition to honouring as well Project Supervisors, Scientific, Preparatory and Reception Committees, for their active role in the success of the Forum.
For his part, Assist Prof Dr. Azher M. Abid, Dean of Engineering College at Al-Mustaqbal University has thanked and appreciated the Participation of Engineering College of Babylon University, which sincerely reflects the deep-rooted relation between the two Universities.
