Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University LETI published an article in the university website about the visit of Prof. Dr. Eng Hasan Shaker Majdi the dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College to singe a memorandum of understanding. The published article stated the following:

Prof. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College visited ETU on July 10th 2018. As a result, Saint-Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” and Al-Mustaqbal University College (Iraq) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The Memorandum formalizes the intent of both universities to develop mutual cooperation in the form of students exchange and joint research programs and projects.

ETU is recognized by the government of Iraq to be an attractive academic and research center. Saint-Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” was included in the list of Russian universities recommended for Iraqi citizens by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Iraq. ETU’s compliance with administrative and research standards, as well as safety regulations was granted high praise.

The Department of Biotechnical Systems interested Prof. Hasan Shakir Majdi the most. He met with Zafar M. Yuldashev, Head of the Department of Biotechnical Systems, and both professors discussed shared fields of interest and agreed to draw up a roadmap of joint cooperation in biomedicine.

Three representatives of Al-Mustaqbal University College took part in the biomedical engineering professional summer school this year on July 2-13th. They were learning about computer analysis of biomedical data, ways to utilize robots and other modern technologies in rehabilitation and prosthetics from the best professors of the department. The students were also getting acquainted with modern laboratory equipment of the department.
