Under the Guardianship of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, with the supervision of Assist Prof Dr. Zahraa Halim Khalil, Dean of Technology & Health Sciences College, Radiology Techniques Department, and on the occasion of World Radiology Day 2023, has organized a Festival, raising the following slogan:
"The Distinguished Role Played by Radiology Department Staff in Supporting Patients"
However, we should note that the Festival aims to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically, SDG 3: Good Health & Well-Being.
The Event has been attended by a number of personnel, including Dr. Chasib Al-Hjami, represented by Mr. Hassan Kassar, Director General of Environmental Protection & Improvement Department in the Middle Euphrates Region, Assist. Prof. Dr. Samira Adnan Mahdi, Head of Physics Department at the Sciences College of Babylon University, Engineer Mr. Makki Hadi Imran Al-Shimmari, represented by Mr. Hassan Abdul Hamza, Director of Babylon Environment and Head of Radiation Monitoring Division, in addition to Mr. Bahaa Shakir, Official of Euphrates Municipal Department.
The Festival has been launched by a Speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Raad Shakir Ubayis, Head of Radiology Department, in which he has focused on the role of Radiology Team in supporting patients. After that, four lectures have been submitted and as follows:
Lecture No. 01: Exposure of Radiation in Linear Acceleration Units, delivered by Prof. Dr. Nihad Abdul Ameer Salih, an Academic at College of Sciences, University of Babylon
Lecture No. 02: Air Coil Simply Better, delivered by Engineer Mr. Ammar Faris Hassan, Representative of General Electric
Lecture No. 03: Employment of Digital Image Processing Algorithms to detect Tumors, delivered by Prof Dr. Rabab Saadoun Abdoun, an Academic at College of Sciences, University of Babylon
Lecture No. 04: Elastography, delivered by Dr. Ahmed Fa'iz Nasir Al-Saad, Specialist of Radiology & Ultrasound, Imam Al-Sadiq Hospital
Finally, we should note that latest Technologies & Devices in the Field of Radiology, Sonar as well as Magnetic Resonance have been displayed by International Companies, in addition to exhibiting Scientific Posters and Drawings, which amazingly reflect Student Talents.
