Under the Guardianship of Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, with the Guidance of Dr. Huda Hashim Muhammad, Dean of College of Fine Arts, and in Cooperation with Women Empowerment Division, represented by Prof Dr. Sahira Qahtan Abdul Jabbar, as well as the Organization of Iraq Civilization, and the Federation of Trade Unions, a Scientific Workshop has been organized under the Supervision of Student Activities Department, which calls for the Protection of Working Women Rights against any type of blackmail whether direct or electronic. There is no doubt that such blackmail shall have Negative Effects on the Psychology of Working Women and their Financial Situation.
It is considerable to note that the Workshop has aimed to introduce the Rights of Working Women as stipulated by Law, Types of Blackmail, and the procedures that shall be adopted to protect women from this blackmail, which often starts from the Family, emphasizing the necessity to increase awareness about this dangerous phenomenon that has been spreading throughout Iraqi Society. Accordingly, we do need indeed to enhance the Spirit of Love towards Working Women that should eliminate the Phenomenon of Blackmailing against them.
In addition to the Workshop, An Awareness Campaign has been organized as well, conducted by Ms. Anfal Nadhim Lafta, Ms. Zainab Haidar and the Student Jasim Sami. Besides, it is worth noting that Shields and Gifts have been distributed to a number of Guests as well as Female Workers at the Federation of Trade Unions in Babylon, all along with Working Women at Al-Mustaqbal University.
Finally, we should keep in mind that the Activity comes as part of the University Program to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically, SDG 5: Gender Equality.
