Al-Mustaqbal University Comes First in the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP)

We are obliged to note that Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University has announced that Al-Mustaqbal University has been ranked First among Private Universities & Colleges, and 8th among Iraqi Public Universities in the “University Ranking by Academic Performance, 2023 - 2024 (URAP). Thus, we should admit that Iraqi Universities have recorded indeed notable Competitive Ranks in the URAP.
The URAP Official Website https://urapcenter.org/Rankings/2023-2024/World_Ranking_2023-2024 has announced the Rankings of 3000 Universities around the World, whereas the Fourteen Iraqi Universities have strengthened their Positions in the Rankings, and as follows:
1. University of Baghdad (1262)
2. Salahaddin University (1347)
3. University of Technology (1671)
4. University of Babylon (2130)
5. Basra University (2164)
6. Cihan University of Erbil (2238)
7. Al-Mustansiriya University (2249)
8. Al-Mustaqbal University (2315)
9. University of Mosul (2362)
10. University of Kufa (2523)
11. University of Al-Qadisiyah (2729)
12. Middle Technical University (2761)
13. Tishk International University (2790)
14. Islamic University College (2836).
It is worth noting that URAP is based on evaluating Academic Performance of Institutions according to the following indicators:
a. Scientific Articles (21%)
b. Citations (21%)
c. Total Number of Research Papers (10%)
d. Total Influence of Articles (18%),
e. Total influence of Citations (15%)
f. International Cooperation (15%).
Prof Dr. Majdi has indicated that URAP aims to develop a Ranking System for International Universities based on Academic Performance Indicators that reflect the Quality & Quantity of Scientific Publications, in addition to identifying potential areas of progress.
Finally, we should note that "University Ranking by Academic Performance" (URAP) is a University Ranking System that has been developed by the Informatics Institute at the Middle East Technical University, and it mainly focuses on Research Performance, using data from International Bibliometric Databases, specifically, Web of Science and InCites.
