Under the Guardianship of Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Model Clinic of Dentistry College has been opened with the aim of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDGs 3, 6, 9 as well as 13, and in conjunction with Al-Mustaqbal Festival Week for Sustainability, that shall be convened during the period 17th – 22nd February 2024.
The College Staff represented by its Dean Prof Dr. Athraa Yahya, in addition to the Deputy Dean Mr. Muhammad Fares, and the Teaching Assistants Ms. Saba Waheed, Ms. Nadine Atheer as well as Mr. Mustafa Ni'ma, have exerted all possible efforts to equip the Clinic with Single-Use Supplies that are kept after use in Special Containers and classified according to the materials used, taking into consideration that they do not cause harm to Environment after disposal.
Special Plants have also been used to absorb volatile toxic substances during dental treatment, in addition to other plants that might improve Patients' Mood & Vital Functions. As a matter of fact, the Model Clinic is a pioneering experience at Iraqi Universities, representing an immediate goal that is friendly to Clean Environment.
