Launch of Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Awards

Under the Patronage of His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, being directly supervised by Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and as an essential trend in stimulating Creative and Innovative Works, Al-Mustaqbal University has launched Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Awards within the Activities of Sustainability Week that has been organized during the period 17th – 22nd February 2024.
It is considerable to note that the Award Winners have been honored with Certificates & Shields of Excellence, as well as Lucrative Financial Rewards that have been determined in accordance with the Sustainability Standards set by a Relevant Committee.
The First Award has been offered to Assist Prof Dr. Azher M. Abid, Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology at Al-Mustaqbal University for his participation in the design and implementation of Systems that have a Distinguished Role in the Preservation of Environment, in addition to publishing a lot of Scientific Research in Worldwide Journals, including SCOPUS. However, it should be noted that one of the Systems that has been designed and implemented is Al-Mustaqbal Platform for Environmental Monitoring, which performs several issues, comprising Preservation of Environment in Babylon Governorate, Health Protection, Keeping up Natural Resources, Determining how to deal with and address Environmental Problems, in addition to submitting proposals to reduce impact of Climate Changes. Moreover, a Meteorological Station has been designed at Al-Mustaqbal University to monitor and record weather conditions in Babylon Governorate so as to analyze data and provide necessary information that would help Researchers, Scholars and Decision Makers take the right decisions related to Climate Changes.
The Second Award has been granted to Assist Prof Dr. Tahani Jawad Muhammad Ali an Academic at Al Qasim Green University for her efforts in developing Sustainable Agriculture in the Natural Reserve of Al-Mustaqbal University with her great efforts exerted in finding solutions to confront Climate Challenges. As for the Third Award, it has been given to Assist Prof Dr. Zahraa Halim Al-Qayim, Dean of the College of Technology and Medical Health at Al-Mustaqbal University for her Distinguished Role in promoting Serious Projects related to SDG3: Good Health & Well-Being.
