We would like to note that Al-Mustaqbal University Council has convened its Thirteenth Session for the Academic Year 2023-2024, Chaired by Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, in the presence of the Council Members, and hosting the Director of Scientific & Academic Supervision at the University Presidency.
The University President has opened the Session, appreciating all efforts exerted by College Deanships as well as Scientific and Administrative Departments at the University and through them to all Academics and Associates, as these efforts have led to many Qualitative Achievements during the Academic Year 2023-2024, and being the focus of attention of the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, in addition to Local and International Academic Institutions.
Prof Dr. Majdi has reviewed a number of Bright Milestones where the University has come up with distinguished accomplishments, including the Initiative taken by His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, in which he has honored Ten Researchers, led by the University President himself for publishing more than Ten Research Papers in Worldwide Journals. Besides, the University has occupied an Advanced Position topping Quantitative and Qualitative Research Output among Iraqi Universities, keeping in mind that Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved First Position in the publishing of Research in the Field of Chemical Engineering on Scopus Engines for the Year 2023, and the Second Position for the Year 2024 within the Highest Ten Iraqi Universities regarding the aforementioned Field.
As for Memorandums of Understanding and International Partnerships, the University President has indicated that the University has obtained the Membership of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) Program, and thus becoming the First Iraqi Private University to attain this Membership and to join the Universities Network for Intercultural Dialogue and International Cooperation (UNIMED), being essential and basic steps in the Internationalization of Higher Education in accordance with the Ministry Policy, in addition to signing a number of Memorandums of Understanding with International Universities in Jordan and Indonesia.
On the Local Level, Al-Mustaqbal University has started working within the Project of establishing Technology & Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) in Iraq, being an Essential Partner with the University of Baghdad and the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control.
It should be noted however that the University President has directed Deans of Colleges all along with the Scientific and Administrative Departments at the University Presidency to prepare all requirements to receive the New Academic Year 2024-2025 that would witness Launch of two Master Study Programs in partnership with the Malaysian USM University, being experienced for the first time by Iraqi Universities, and therefore requires special efforts in order to achieve its success.
For his part, Prof Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, has submitted a detailed presentation regarding Research Activity through the Data provided by Scopus Website, supported by numbers for what has been accomplished of the Research Plan for the Academic Year 2023-2024 at the level of Colleges and Scientific Departments, with appropriate details related to Citations and Percentage of Publication in Journals. In this regard, the University President has given his directives to monitor and analyze the progress achieved in the Field of Scientific Research and meanwhile identifying and overcoming the obstacles that might prevent completion of the related Plans.
The Meeting has also witnessed discussion of a number of Scientific, Administrative as well as Student Issues listed on the Agenda. Necessary and appropriate recommendations have been taken in this regard.
