After its announcement of the Slogan "Towards a Sustainable University", Al-Mustaqbal University has been permanently working to embody this Slogan through a variety of initiatives that would achieve Sustainable Development Goals, especially those related to the Challenges of Desertification and Climate Changes. Within the Generous Sponsorship and Blessed Presence of Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, being part of the University Garden Week Activities, College of Nursing has organized a Volunteer Campaign in which the College Academics and students have participated to plant different types of seedlings of Evergreen Trees with the aim of increasing Green Areas at the University Campus that would undoubtedly have a Significant Impact on reducing Environmental Pollution, and thus constituting one of the most important solutions in the confrontation of Climate Change. We should note however that Green Areas now constitute approximately 60% of the total area of the University Campus.
During his participation in the Campaign, the University President has addressed Students urging them to be serious and diligent in exploiting their existence in the University to increase Knowledge and acquire Skills that would make them able to meet Labor Market with high confidence. He has also emphasized the Significance of their Role in raising Community Awareness of Good Citizenship and staying away from all Negative and Abnormal Phenomena that might conflict with the Authentic Ideals and Values of Iraqi Society.
He has also emphasized in another aspect of his Speech that the University Presidency is committed to providing Material and Moral Support to Distinguished Students and adopts all Initiatives and Creative Ideas that would contribute to improving performance and have a tangible impact on Society, concluding his Speech by thanking and appreciating Academics and Students who have supervised as well as participated in the implementation of the Campaign
