We should note that Al-Mustaqbal University has been always focusing on Sustainable Development as well as Organic Agriculture, and as a result of this special interest, the University has established Organic Farms through the use of Latest Sustainable Agriculture Techniques, with the aim of producing healthy, high-quality food crops. These farms indeed rely on the utilization of Advanced Environmental Methods and Renewable Resources in order to ensure Sustainability of Agricultural Production, meanwhile reducing Chemicals and maintaining Environmental Balance. By adopting such initiative, the University has aimed to promote awareness among Students, encouraging them to adopt Friendly-Environment Practices in the Agricultural Field.
Besides, Al-Mustaqbal University has also established a Specialized Medical Farm affiliated with the Colleges of Pharmacy and Agricultural Technologies, specifically Department of Medicinal Plant Techniques and Natural Products, being specialized in studying plants that can be used for Medical and Therapeutic Purposes. At this Farm, they do analyze Natural Compounds extracted from plants in order to develop Medicines as well as Health and Cosmetic Products.
As a matter of fact, the Medical Farm includes a group of Medicinal Plants that are deemed as part of Pharmaceutical Industry, out of which active substances are extracted, that can be utilized in the treatment of many diseases. We are obliged to note that this project comes within the University Vision to support Scientific Research in the Fields of Pharmacy and Physical Therapy, in addition to providing Educational and Practical Environment for College Students to learn about the role of Medicinal Plants in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
It is worth noting as well that Al-Mustaqbal University has managed to grow Agaricus Mushroom on its Organic Farms. This type of mushroom is distinguished by its High Nutritional Value, due to containing large proportions of Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Fiber, in addition to Vitamins such as Vitamins D and C, as well as essential Minerals, like Zinc, Calcium, Magnesium, and Selenium. Accordingly, Agaricus Mushroom can be considered an ideal food that would undoubtedly support General Health and enhance Immunity.
Through these Initiatives, Al-Mustaqbal University has been strengthening its commitment towards Sustainable Development as well as Green Economy, and thus, establishing an Integrated Model, which combines Theoretical Education with Practical Application that would play an essential role in the development of Students Skills so that when graduating, they become Active Members in their Society, and being capable of coming up with Unique Innovations in the Fields of Agriculture and Pharmacy.
