The world annually celebrates on 22nd of October “The World Energy Day” similar to “The World Environment Day”. It is indeed an opportunity to increase awareness about the importance of sustaining energy as a dynamic stimulus to the global economy.
All the world nations celebrate this day by organizing different activities and events to raise awareness about the vitality of energy preservation and rationalization of its use, moving meanwhile towards sustainable energy to promote development amid serious concerns about the absence of reasonable and appropriate policies for exploiting energy resources, especially the renewable one despite the efforts exerted. The World Energy Day includes a number of issues on which its slogan has been designed. These issues are water resources, green environment, electric power, oil and solar energy. One of the main objectives of the “World Energy Day” is to ensure the provision of safe and sustainable energy to everybody. It also aims to encourage governments to identify national policies that reflect the world energy perspective. Within the same trend, Al-Mustaqbal University College, under the guidance and patronage of its Dean, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, has launched a number of initiatives activities to promote and support energy rationalization as part of raising awareness about the importance of conserving energy and rationalizing its use, moving steadily towards sustainability.
