Within the initiatives suggested by the Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineering Department, which intend to create a competitive environment among students where they could come up with outstanding projects, serving meanwhile the SDGs at Al-Mustaqbal University College as part of its orientation towards globalization.
A group of third year students have managed to manufacture a seating shade with outdoor solar-powered lighting, water-resistant, rechargeable, charged by a solar cell, easy to install, and it works automatically at night.
It is remarkable to note that Assist. Prof. Dr. Azher M. Abed, Head of the Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineering Department has indicated that many prominent projects designed by students in the field of sustainable energy aim to rationalize the consumption of electricity, and improve the efficiency of air-conditioning systems as well
In addition, Dr. Azher has thanked the College Deanship appreciating its constant support to students innovations, and as an obvious example for this encouragement, it has been the decision taken by Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College to establish the Innovation & Technology Center as well as the Energy Laboratory. Such decision is considered as an essential step towards creating a competitive environment, in which students all together with employees could develop new skills and abilities that shall lead to the enhancement of environmental sustainability.
