Under the guardianship of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College, Women Empowerment Unit at MUC organized a seminar on Feb 12, 2022, to celebrate Women's Day entitled "Manufacturing a Solar Cell From SB2O3". The academic Noor Haider was the lecturer. Accordingly, the seminar was about preparing thin membranes of antimony trioxide SB2O3 through the thermal evaporation technique under the pressure of 10-7 mill bar at a sedimentation rate of 0.33 nanometers per second and deposited on glass and silicon bases at room temperature with different thicknesses (18, 25, 28, 32, 36) nanometers at an annealing temperature of 473 K for two hours. Additionally, nanomaterials were used in the preparation of the solar cell which is known as a technique that studies, treats and monitors matter with dimensions ranging between 1 and 100 nanometers, classified according to the following dimensions:
1. zero-dimensional materials
2. one-dimensional materials
3. two-dimensional materials
4. three-dimensional materials
The electrical properties of the membranes were measured and it was found that all the prepared membranes have negative conductivity. Furthermore, the concentration of the carriers and the electrical conductivity increased by adding silver and increasing thickness.
