The work continues on the graduation project for the fourth stage students in the Department of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering (designing and manufacturing of a parabolic trough solar collector), according to the directives of the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd and under the supervision of the instructor Mrs. Zahraa Hussien in addition to the engineers Hussien and Mohammed as well as to a group of distinguished fourth stage students. Two parabolic trough solar collectors were designed and manufactured, the first with a total area of (1.462 m 2) which using oil, and the second with a total area (2.924 m 2) which using water as a heat medium. Moreover, a reflector of radiation, a vacuum glass receiver and an electronic circuit were used for the purpose of reading the meter as well as a device was used to track the sun's rays. This technology could be beneficial if it is used globally as clean energy within the goals of sustainable development for the long term period.
