The College of Engineering Technologies Participates in Al-Mustaqbal University’s Celebration of Iraq’s National Day Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and with the supervision and presence of the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, the College actively participated in the university’s celebration of Iraq’s National Day, alongside several colleges and students. The participation of the College of Engineering Technologies was distinguished by the direct supervision of the Dean, who oversaw the students’ activities and performances that reflected national pride, creativity, and academic excellence. The college’s contributions also highlighted the university’s ongoing commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals through education, volunteerism, and community initiatives. During the ceremony, the University President received a Letter of Appreciation from the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in recognition of his outstanding efforts that led Al-Mustaqbal University to achieve advanced positions in international rankings. In addition, a number of academic leaders, faculty members, and distinguished participants in the Sustainability Award were honored. This participation reflects the College’s dedication to strengthening national identity and promoting awareness of education’s vital role in supporting sustainable development and shaping a bright future for Iraq. Al-Mustaqbal University’s College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies Celebrates Its Top Students in Conjunction with Iraqi National Day

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Muthaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Academic Supervisor, the college held a distinguished ceremony on Thursday, October 10, 2025, to honor its top students for the 2024–2025 academic year, coinciding with the celebration of Iraqi National Day. The ceremony began with the Iraqi National Anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an and a moment of silence with Al-Fatiha in tribute to Iraq’s martyrs. Afterward, the Dean delivered a speech expressing his pride in the students’ achievements, emphasizing that this celebration reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to excellence and innovation, encouraging students to continue their pursuit of academic distinction. The event also included presentations of success stories from outstanding students, highlighting their academic excellence, followed by the distribution of certificates of appreciation by the Dean in recognition of their exceptional efforts, in an atmosphere filled with pride and joy. The ceremony concluded by reaffirming the pivotal role of students in building Iraq’s bright future and promoting values of national belonging and scientific creativity. Al-Mustaqbal University Organizes an Awareness Event in Cooperation with the Civil Defense Directorate to Promote Safety and Risk Prevention

As part of the joint cooperation between Al-Mustaqbal University and the Civil Defense Directorate in Babylon to promote a culture of safety and risk prevention, a broad awareness event was organized on the university campus. The event was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the Administrative Assistant, Prof. Dr. Mundher Fadel Hassan, several deans, academic and administrative staff, along with security leaders from the Ministry of Interior and the Civil Defense Directorate in Babylon. The event aimed to raise awareness and provide practical training in safety, first aid, and fire prevention, through applied lectures and demonstrations on the proper use of fire extinguishers and safe evacuation procedures during emergencies, ensuring the protection of students and staff. The Civil Defense Directorate emphasized that cooperation with educational institutions contributes to reinforcing a culture of prevention and reducing human and material losses, while Al-Mustaqbal University praised the vital role of the Directorate in strengthening readiness to deal with risks and emergencies. Al-Mustaqbal University’s College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies Discusses Preparations for the Honoring Ceremony of Top Students

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, and chaired by the Scientific Assistant Dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amin Mohammed Kitab, the college held an extensive meeting on Wednesday, 01/10/2025, to discuss the preparations for the ceremony honoring the top students of the academic year 2024–2025, in addition to reviewing teaching loads and departmental course schedules. The meeting included a review of the preparations made by the scientific departments, which will be reflected through exhibitions, bazaars, and student activities accompanying the ceremony. It also highlighted success stories of outstanding students, special segments by the Summer Training Unit, as well as projects participating in the Hackathon competition. Furthermore, the distribution of schedules and lecture halls was discussed to ensure a well-organized start of the new academic year. The Head of the Student Activities Division, Asst. Lecturer Ali Hassanein Mohsen Aboud, delivered a comprehensive presentation that outlined the main proposed activities, emphasizing the vital role of departments in ensuring the success of this special event that celebrates students’ achievements and dedication. The meeting concluded with feedback shared by department representatives and an agreement to enhance preparations in order to deliver a ceremony that reflects the excellence of top students, combining academic recognition with scientific and student activities in an integrated manner. Joint Cooperation between the College of Engineering and Technical Engineering and the National Center for Occupational Health and Safety in Babylon

Under the patronage and attention of the Dean of the College of Engineering and Technical Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, and in line with the college’s pioneering role in serving its students and promoting a culture of sustainability, the Students’ Activities Division conducted a working visit to the National Center for Occupational Health and Safety in Babylon, represented by Eng. Asst. Lect. Ali Hassanain Mohsen Aboud, Head of the Division. During the meeting, which was hosted by Mr. Raed Abdul Ameer Naif Al-Eisawi, Director of the Center, both sides discussed prospects for joint cooperation in the fields of occupational safety and health, as well as coordinating joint programs of seminars and awareness workshops to develop students’ skills and raise their awareness in this vital field. The arrangements for the Sustainability Ambassadors Camp, to be organized by Al-Mustaqbal University at Babylon Resort, were also discussed, with the Center contributing through training and awareness activities within the camp’s program. College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University Participates in Baghdad Book Fair to Promote Sustainable Education and Culture

The presence of Al-Mustaqbal University – College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies was highlighted at the Baghdad Book Fair through a delegation composed of the college’s department heads and Prof. Dr. Taysir Samir Jaaz, Director of Scientific Affairs at the university. This participation is part of the university’s efforts to strengthen its academic and cultural presence and to engage directly with the community, students, and researchers, contributing to the achievement of the Fourth Sustainable Development Goal related to quality education. During their visit, the delegation explored the university’s pavilion, which attracted a large number of visitors eager to learn about the university’s colleges, departments, and academic programs, particularly postgraduate programs in medical and engineering fields. The pavilion also featured publications and works of the university’s professors across various scientific and humanistic disciplines, in addition to showcasing the modern laboratories and advanced infrastructure that distinguish the university. An Online Meeting to Discuss Scientific Workshops and Academic Activities at the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, a meeting was held on the evening of Monday, September 15, 2025, via Google Meet. The meeting was chaired by the Scientific Assistant of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amin Mohammed Kitab, with the presence of representatives from all departments, to discuss the scientific workshops and activities related to the Sustainability Camp. The meeting included a review of the proposed workshops submitted by the departments, specifying the lecturers’ names and implementation dates, in addition to presenting brochures on the workshop topics. The discussion also covered student preparation in each team, academic schedules, attendance rates, as well as proposals for preparing promotional videos and informative booths for the workshops and activities. This meeting comes as part of the University’s commitment to organizing scientific activities in an integrated manner, enhancing student participation, and supporting innovation in line with the University’s vision to advance the academic environment.
