With an Ambitious Vision for Global Engagement… Almustaqbal University Strengthens Its Academic Presence through Strategic Collaboration with Egyptian Universities

The President of Almustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, participated in a high-level ministerial delegation during an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, headed by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahd. The visit comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to advance academic cooperation and expand scientific partnerships between the two countries. The visit featured a series of academic engagements focused on activating memoranda of understanding and enhancing the quality of scientific research. Key stops included Al-Azhar University, where discussions centered on strengthening academic integration and exchanging expertise in ways that support the educational systems of both Iraq and Egypt. Particular attention was given to joint postgraduate programs with Mansoura University. The collaboration between Almustaqbal University and Mansoura University—especially the Master’s program in Law hosted at Almustaqbal University—was reaffirmed as a successful and distinguished model of bilateral academic cooperation. Emphasis was also placed on expanding this experience to include emerging and specialized disciplines, while addressing challenges faced by researchers. The delegation held extensive meetings at the headquarters of the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, where discussions covered mechanisms for mutual recognition of academic qualifications, scientific twinning programs, and initiatives aimed at improving universities’ standings in global indexing databases. As part of efforts to support international scholarly publishing, the delegation visited the regional office of ELSEVIER, where they explored the latest AI-powered publishing technologies and discussed ways to enhance the global visibility of Iraqi research outputs. The visit also included a tour of Enlaunch for Communications and Information Technology at Mansoura University. During the meeting, the company showcased its key achievements in digital transformation and in developing technological infrastructure for educational and healthcare institutions—an experience that received strong praise from the delegation as a leading model in supporting academic and service environments. Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi expressed his appreciation for the significant role played by the Deputy Minister in leading this scientific initiative, affirming that Almustaqbal University’s participation reflects its strong commitment to international quality standards and its continuous pursuit of a progressive academic and research environment through collaboration with well-established institutions. This visit forms part of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s broader strategy to promote international engagement, build effective partnerships, and achieve excellence in higher education and research outcomes.

This follow-up aims to ensure the achievement of intended psychological and educational objectives. It focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of counseling programs provided to students and enhancing a supportive, creativity-driven learning environment, while reinforcing quality indicators and institutional accreditation requirements in line with approved academic standards.

Al-Mustaqbal University concluded its 4th International Sustainability Week 2026 in the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, with wide participation from staff, students, and partners. The week featured diverse scientific and cultural activities, along with innovative student projects reflecting sustainability goals. The Quality Assurance and University Performance Department played an active role in documenting activities and preparing qualitative reports in line with recognized standards. During the closing ceremony, several colleges and staff were honored, including the Quality Assurance Department, in recognition of its outstanding contribution to the success of the event.

Director of Quality Assurance at Al-Mustaqbal University Joins Institutional Accreditation Evaluation Team for Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University

Dr. Riyadh Hamid Salman, Director of the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance at Al-Mustaqbal University, participated as a member of the national evaluation team in the assessment visit to Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University to complete institutional accreditation requirements under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The five-day visit included evaluating academic and administrative aspects, infrastructure, quality assurance practices, and performance indicators, as well as holding meetings with university leadership to assess institutional readiness. This participation reflects ongoing efforts to promote a culture of quality and accreditation and to advance higher education in Iraq.

The Internal Audit Committee of the Department of University Quality Assurance and Performance convened a dedicated meeting

The Internal Audit Committee of the Department of University Quality Assurance and Performance convened a dedicated meeting on program accreditation for the College of Science / Department of Medical Physics on 4/5, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance educational quality and fulfill academic accreditation requirements. During the meeting, the committee reviewed and discussed the key components of program accreditation, including the evaluation of course specifications, assessment of learning outcomes, and their alignment with nationally and internationally recognized standards. In addition, the committee examined progress on continuous improvement plans. The committee also emphasized the importance of completing the documentation of supporting evidence and substantiating materials, as well as enhancing both academic and administrative performance to ensure the quality of the academic program and the sustainability of its development. The meeting concluded with a set of recommendations aimed at strengthening the department’s readiness to obtain program accreditation, with an emphasis on monitoring their implementation according to a defined timeline.

Internal Audit Enhances the College of Law’s Readiness for Programmatic Accreditation

The Internal Audit Team at the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Department conducted a comprehensive internal audit at the College of Law, as part of intensive institutional efforts to enhance the College’s readiness for the upcoming visit of the National Evaluation Team and to confidently progress toward obtaining programmatic accreditation from the National Council. The audit focused on assessing compliance with approved academic standards, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing development-oriented recommendations aligned with international best practices, thereby supporting sustainable educational quality and strengthening the program’s academic competitiveness.
