Al-Mustaqbal University strengthened its academic relations and scientific partnerships with several Jordanian universities through a scientific visit conducted by a university delegation to three leading higher education institutions: Applied Science Private University, the University of Petra, and the University of Jordan, from September 30 to October 1, 2026 The delegation included Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Hassan Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Professor Dr. Tarek Jawad Kazem, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department. The meetings explored prospects for academic and research cooperation and the development of international partnerships between Al-Mustaqbal University and its Jordanian counterparts The visit included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Applied Science Private University. Discussions with the University of Petra addressed ways to renew and activate joint cooperation, while meetings with the University of Jordan focused on opportunities for cooperation in global rankings and international accreditation, particularly ABET accreditation During the meetings, the delegation also discussed several areas of future cooperation, including joint scientific research, student and expertise exchanges, training programs, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence applications, contributing to expanding academic and scientific cooperation opportunities among the universities The Al-Mustaqbal University delegation received a warm welcome from the administrations of the three universities. The delegation expressed its appreciation to Professor Dr. Samiha Jarrah, President of Applied Science Private University; Dr. Haitham Abdullah Abu Khdeija, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board of Trustees; and Professor Dr. Wamid Hadi Talib, Director of the International Relations Office. The delegation also expressed its appreciation to the administration of the University of Petra, represented by Professor Dr. Faisal Abu Al-Rub, Vice President of the University; Dr. Nidal Hussein, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; and Mr. Alaa Al-Din Arabiyat, Director of Public and International Relations The delegation also commended the efforts of Dr. Sameh Al-Zubaidi, Director of International Relations at the University of Jordan, and Dr. Najoud Al-Dubai, Director of Global Rankings and International Accreditation, for supporting the meetings and creating opportunities for joint cooperation The Al-Mustaqbal University delegation affirmed that the visit represents a new step toward expanding the University’s presence within the international academic community and translating the understandings and meetings into joint programs and projects that serve students and researchers, while contributing to the advancement of higher education and enhancing the quality of academic and research outcomes

Al-Mustaqbal University has strengthened its academic partnerships at the regional level by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for scientific and academic cooperation with Applied Science Private University in Jordan. The agreement was signed during the University delegation’s visit to Amman, as part of its efforts to expand its international network and establish sustainable academic cooperation The Al-Mustaqbal University delegation included Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Professor Dr. Tareq Jawad Kadhim, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department. The MoU was signed on behalf of Applied Science Private University by Professor Dr. Samiha Jarrah, President of the University, and on behalf of Al-Mustaqbal University by Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi The MoU covers several areas of cooperation, most notably the exchange of expertise, students, and researchers; the implementation of joint scientific and research projects and initiatives; and the development of academic cooperation in ways that contribute to advancing the quality of education and scientific research The signing ceremony featured a presentation by Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi highlighting Al-Mustaqbal University’s key achievements and its academic and research development, as well as its progress in international accreditations and rankings and its future plans to strengthen partnerships with global educational institutions This MoU is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to expand its academic presence regionally and internationally and translate its vision into effective partnerships that support education, scientific research, and innovation
Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a new milestone on the global stage with its first-ever inclusion in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, placing it in the 1201–1400 global band. This achievement reflects the University’s continued progress in its academic and research performance This year’s edition of the rankings includes 2,297 universities from 118 countries and territories. Al-Mustaqbal University ranked first among Iraqi private universities, second among Iraqi universities outside the Kurdistan Region, and fourth in Iraq when universities in the Region are included In terms of individual indicators, the University ranked second in Iraq for international outlook, fifth for research environment, and sixth for research quality, reflecting the growth of its research activity and the expansion of its international academic partnerships The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, congratulated the University’s faculty members, staff, and students on this achievement, emphasizing that this global recognition is the result of integrated academic, research, and administrative efforts, as well as continued support for the quality of education, scientific publishing, and international cooperation Al-Mustaqbal University’s entry into the Times Higher Education global rankings marks a new milestone in its journey toward strengthening its global competitiveness and consolidating its presence among internationally ranked universities
Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the activities of the 12th International Workshop on Green and Sustainable University Rankings (IWGM 2026), hosted by Trier University of Applied Sciences – Birkenfeld Environmental Campus in the Federal Republic of Germany from August 24 to 27, 2026, with the participation of a number of universities and academic institutions from around the world The University was represented at the workshop by its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi. The workshop was held under the theme, “Advancing Sustainable Campuses through Governance, Digitalization, and Integrated Performance,” and addressed a number of topics related to developing sustainable campuses and enhancing governance practices, digital transformation, and integrated institutional performance At the conclusion of the workshop, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi was presented with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his active participation in the workshop and his representation of Al-Mustaqbal University. Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the celebration organized by the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils in Baghdad to mark the 50th anniversary of its establishment (1976–2026), under the theme “Fifty Years of Serving Scientific Research, Innovation, and Arab Academic Cooperation.” The event was attended by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Iraq, Mr. Nizar Amidi, along with a number of officials and academic and scientific leaders from Iraq and other Arab countries The university was represented at the celebration by Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, who participated in the event’s activities, which highlighted the Union’s journey and its role in supporting Arab scientific and research cooperation over five decades The celebration emphasized the importance of strengthening scientific cooperation and directing scientific research toward addressing contemporary challenges, particularly in the fields of the environment, climate, and artificial intelligence. A documentary film was also screened, showcasing the most significant milestones in the history of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils On the sidelines of the celebration, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi met with Professor Dr. Amr Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, where they discussed ways to strengthen academic cooperation and develop scientific partnerships among universities and higher education institutions Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation in this Arab scientific forum reflects its active presence in scientific events and its commitment to expanding the horizons of academic and research cooperation, as well as strengthening partnerships that contribute to advancing scientific research and innovation

Al-Mustaqbal University continues to strengthen its presence in Iraq’s research landscape, following data published on the Iraqi Research Management System (iRMS) platform of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which placed the University among the Top 10 Iraqi universities according to the H-Index in the Scopus database According to the data published on the iRMS platform, Al-Mustaqbal University achieved an H-Index of 94, making it the only private university among the Top 10 Iraqi universities, alongside a number of long-established public universities This indicator reflects the growing presence of the University’s scientific output and the increasing number of citations of its researchers’ work in the Scopus database, amid the University’s continued efforts to support scientific research and enhance the quality of academic publishing This achievement is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to develop its research performance and strengthen its presence in international scientific indicators, supporting broader prospects for research collaboration and consolidating its position within the Iraqi and international academic landscape
