Al-Mustaqbal University officially announced its accession to the Fourth Generation Universities (4GU) initiative during a scientific event held at the College of Health and Medical Technologies at the university, as part of its strategic direction to strengthen its academic and research position at both local and international levels. This accession aligns with the university’s efforts to develop innovation environments and expand cooperation with universities, research centers, and international institutions, contributing to enhancing the social and economic impact of higher education. The initiative’s concepts were presented, aiming to redefine the role of universities as key drivers of sustainable development through integration with industry and civil society sectors. The Fourth Generation Universities initiative focuses on supporting innovation, measuring the impact of scientific research, and building effective partnerships that contribute to the development of the global higher education system, in addition to enabling universities to move toward more advanced stages of institutional development. This orientation reinforces Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to improving the quality of its educational and research outputs and serving its students and academic staff, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals). Through this step, Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirms its vision of international openness and building a creative academic generation capable of contributing to a sustainable future.
