An electronic meeting was held on Monday, 27/4/2026, between the Technical Engineering College at Al-Mustaqbal University and the Faculty of Engineering at Istanbul Aydin University, aiming to strengthen international partnerships and activate the outcomes of academic cooperation in the fields of scientific research and sustainable energy. This meeting came as a continuation of the understandings reached during the previous face-to-face meeting held in Istanbul at the beginning of April.
The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, Dean of the Technical Engineering College at Al-Mustaqbal University, on behalf of Al-Mustaqbal University, and Professor Dr. Hasan Saygın, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, on behalf of Istanbul Aydin University. The meeting was attended by a distinguished group of academic and administrative staff from the Technical Engineering College at Al-Mustaqbal University, including the Head of the Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies, the Head of the Department of Aircraft Engineering Technologies, the Head of the Scientific Affairs Division, the Director of the Energy Research Center, and the Head of the Quality Assurance Unit.
The meeting resulted in several key strategic outcomes, most notably the confirmation of holding the 4th International Conference on Sustainable Energy Future (ICFSE) at Istanbul Aydin University in October, serving as an international platform for exchanging expertise and innovations in green energy. It also included enhancing scientific publication by involving distinguished faculty members from Istanbul Aydin University in the editorial board of the Al-Mustaqbal Journal of Advanced Sustainable Engineering Sciences (AJSES).
In addition, the meeting agreed on forming joint committees to develop academic curricula and exchange academic and technical expertise between both sides, as well as activating joint research projects in advanced engineering and energy specializations, contributing to improving the quality of scientific and educational outputs.
This collaboration reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment—as the leading private university in Iraq—to expanding international partnerships and developing a robust research environment that supports the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), while strengthening its presence in global academic forums.
