AI for Women’s Empowerment: Scientific Symposium

A scientific seminar was organized under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, with the participation of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Engineering Technical College and in cooperation with the University Women’s Affairs Division, on Monday, 4/5/2026, at 10:00 a.m., in the Student Activities Hall in the Engineering Building. The seminar was delivered by Lecturer Dr. Zahraa Hashim, highlighting the role of working women in advancing society through the use of artificial intelligence technologies. The seminar aimed to emphasize the pivotal role of women in scientific and technological progress by presenting multiple themes focused on leveraging AI applications to enhance women’s professional efficiency and expand their participation across various sectors. It also addressed key challenges they face and proposed practical solutions within a supportive academic and social environment. This activity aligns with the implementation of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), particularly within the pillar of protection and prevention. It also supports the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 5 (Gender Equality), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), promoting empowerment and inclusive development. This initiative reflects the commitment of Al-Mustaqbal University, ranked first among private universities in Iraq, to fostering an inclusive educational environment that supports women and contributes to sustainable societal development.
