As part of its ongoing journey toward academic and research excellence, Al-Mustaqbal University continues to achieve remarkable growth in scientific publishing indicators. According to the latest updates from international indexing databases, approximately 27 new research papers authored by the university’s researchers were indexed during the final week of May 2026, reflecting the continuous increase in scholarly productivity and the expanding presence of the university in prestigious international scientific journals. The recent period has witnessed a significant rise in publications appearing in Open Access journals, contributing to the wider dissemination of scientific knowledge and enabling global academic and industrial communities to access research findings freely. This trend also enhances citation opportunities and strengthens the university’s overall research impact. During this phase, researchers at Al-Mustaqbal University focused on several strategic fields of global priority, including: Artificial Intelligence Applications and Digital Transformation. Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. Materials Engineering and Advanced Technologies. Modern Industrial Technologies and Environmental Sustainability. Engineering and Medical Applications Serving Society. These disciplines are among the most closely linked to contemporary economic and industrial development needs, contributing directly to innovation, technological advancement, and the provision of scientific solutions to societal and industrial challenges. In this context, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, emphasized during recent meetings with researchers and faculty members the importance of publishing in reputable international journals and focusing on applied research that can be invested in and utilized across industry, technology, and the knowledge economy, thereby strengthening the university’s role as a driver of development and innovation. These efforts align with the vision of Al-Mustaqbal University, which is among the first Iraqi universities to adopt the concepts of the Productive University and Fourth-Generation Universities, integrating education and scientific research with innovation, entrepreneurship, and labor market needs. In a new strategic step supporting this vision, the university recently announced the launch of the “Future Council for University Artificial Intelligence,” an advanced institutional platform designed to lead digital and knowledge transformation within the university and to promote the integration of artificial intelligence technologies in education, scientific research, and university administration. The council is also expected to enhance the university’s innovation ecosystem by supporting science parks, business incubators, innovation accelerators, and technology transfer projects, enabling research outcomes to be transformed into practical products, technologies, and investment-ready solutions. Meanwhile, Al-Mustaqbal University continues to strengthen its position as one of Iraq’s leading universities in scientific research and sustainability, supported by an advanced research environment and an extensive network of international academic collaborations. This progress is reflected in the steady increase in publications indexed in prestigious global databases and the university’s growing contribution to knowledge production and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), through applied research that promotes innovation, technology transfer, and service to industrial and societal sectors. These continuous achievements reaffirm that Al-Mustaqbal University is moving steadily toward building an integrated university model that combines academic excellence, scientific research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and community service, in line with its vision of becoming a leading regional hub for knowledge, technology, and sustainable development.
