As part of its ongoing commitment to bridging academic education with practical application and enhancing students’ readiness for the job market, the College of Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University, represented by the Department of Power Mechanics Engineering Technologies, has launched its summer field training program for students at the Al-Mustaqbal University Hospital, currently under construction. The program runs for four to eight weeks and provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a real engineering environment under the direct supervision of experienced engineers and specialists. The training aims to strengthen students’ professional competencies while connecting theoretical knowledge with practical implementation. The program covers several specialized engineering topics, including: Understanding the installation and operation of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. Practical training on York chillers and their associated control and monitoring systems. Studying the hospital’s mechanical and architectural drawings and understanding their implementation and maintenance. Gaining experience with medical gas systems, fire protection networks, and the mechanical infrastructure of healthcare facilities. The Head of the Department of Power Mechanics Engineering Technologies emphasized that training at the university hospital provides an exceptional educational opportunity, offering students a comprehensive practical environment that enhances their technical and engineering skills while preparing them to meet the demands of the modern labor market. The participating students expressed their enthusiasm for the program, noting that it has enabled them to transform theoretical knowledge into practical experience and acquire advanced expertise in modern mechanical systems used in healthcare facilities, significantly improving their professional readiness after graduation. This initiative reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategy of delivering high-quality applied education and preparing highly qualified engineers with the practical skills and expertise needed to excel and compete in diverse engineering sectors.
