The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Engineering and Technical Engineering organized a specialized scientific course on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, entitled "Network Automation and Intelligent Management Using Python and Network APIs." The three-day course was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Abbas Yaseen Nasser, Director of the Continuing Education Unit at the college. It aimed to develop technical and specialized skills and enhance participants' capabilities in network automation and intelligent network management. The course covered a range of modern concepts and technologies representing a significant transformation in network design and management approaches, shifting from traditional management based on manual intervention to automated management driven by programming and intelligent integration among network infrastructure components. The course focused on utilizing Python programming language to automate network operations and employing Network Application Programming Interfaces (Network APIs) to interact with and control network devices. It also addressed device configuration, network performance monitoring, data collection and analysis, and exploring intelligent management capabilities to improve the efficiency of digital infrastructure. Furthermore, the course highlighted the growing importance of network automation in modern technological environments and its role in reducing operational errors, accelerating management and maintenance processes, improving reliability and flexibility, and enabling specialists to develop more efficient network solutions that respond to the requirements of digital transformation. This course is part of the Continuing Education Unit's efforts at the College of Engineering and Technical Engineering to deliver specialized training programs that keep pace with scientific and technological developments, go beyond traditional training approaches, and contribute to building professional competencies capable of applying modern technologies in academic and professional environments. The College of Engineering and Technical Engineering continues its efforts to strengthen digital and specialized skills, bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications, and expand training and qualification opportunities in modern technical fields, in line with Al-Mustaqbal University's vision and its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and digital transformation. This course aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), through promoting continuous learning and specialized training opportunities, and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), by supporting technological innovation and developing skills related to digital infrastructure and modern technologies.
