The Future University participated in a workshop organized by the Tigris Center for Strategic Studies. Dr. Riyadh Hamed Salman, Director of the Quality Assurance Department, represented the Future University in the specialized workshop hosted by the Tigris Center for Strategic Studies at the National Security Adviser's Office/Prime Minister's Office, entitled "Enhancers of Academic Scientific Research and Their Impact on Elevating the Ranking of Iraqi Universities". The workshop was attended by Dr. Omar Al-Fatlawi, Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the University of Baghdad, and an expert in global classifications, in addition to Mr. Firas Al-Muslimawi, a member of the Education Committee of the Iraqi Parliament, and representatives from Iraqi universities and relevant ministries.<br /><br />The workshop included presentations on major global rankings (QS, Shanghai, Webometrics, and Times) and their impact on elevating university rankings globally and improving the quality of education. It focused on key areas such as the quality of scientific research, international collaboration, international awards, and the academic reputation of universities. A comparative analysis of research conducted by Iraqi government and private universities locally, regionally, and globally was also presented, highlighting the major challenges facing scientific research, including funding shortages, lack of research facilities, and the impact of political conditions in the country.<br /><br />The workshop concluded with recommendations, including the necessity of enacting laws that support higher education in general and scientific research in particular, as well as the importance of ministries supporting researchers within their respective fields. It is worth mentioning that the Future University has achieved advanced rankings in the number of research papers published in reputable international journals and in various local, regional, and international classifications.<br /><br />
