The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Dr. Saleh Hussein Ali Al-Tamimi, received a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as part of a visit aimed at strengthening academic and scientific cooperation and following up on the affairs of Iraqi students and scholarship recipients at British universities. The meeting addressed the main challenges facing Iraqi students and scholarship recipients and ways to overcome them, in addition to discussing mechanisms for benefiting from the expertise and competencies of Iraqis in the United Kingdom, in a manner that contributes to supporting and developing higher education and scientific research. The visit also included a follow-up on the condition of the building housing the Iraqi Cultural Attaché’s Office in London, as well as discussions on ways to develop and rehabilitate it to enhance the efficiency of the office’s work and responsibilities, in coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the United Kingdom. Ambassador Al-Tamimi affirmed the Embassy’s commitment to continuing its support for Iraqi students and scholarship recipients and strengthening coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, contributing to providing a supportive environment for students, advancing higher education and scientific research, and serving the Iraqi academic community in the United Kingdom.
