The College of Engineering Technology at Al-Mustaqbal University adopted the integration of artificial intelligence applications into the teaching of academic curricula across all its scientific departments, pursuant to an administrative order issued by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, on 13 October 2026. This initiative comes as part of the University's commitment to keeping pace with scientific and technological advancements and enhancing the quality of engineering education. The order emphasized the development of practical mechanisms for integrating artificial intelligence applications into teaching plans, theoretical lectures, laboratory experiments, and engineering projects, in accordance with the nature of each specialization and academic course. This will be achieved through coordination between department heads and teaching staff, contributing to strengthening practical learning, connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, and developing students' skills in solving engineering problems. Furthermore, the Dean encouraged academic staff to utilize artificial intelligence tools in preparing educational content, analyzing engineering data, conducting simulations, designing, and developing projects. The order also stressed the importance of verifying results, maintaining scientific accuracy, promoting the responsible and ethical use of these technologies, and fostering critical thinking, academic originality, data protection, and academic integrity. The order also required scientific departments to prepare implementation plans identifying the academic courses suitable for incorporating artificial intelligence applications, proposed applications, practical activities, and indicators for measuring their impact on learning outcomes. The departments are also required to submit reports to the College Dean's Office outlining implementation procedures, challenges, and technical and training requirements. Meanwhile, the Quality Assurance Unit will monitor implementation and assess the impact of artificial intelligence applications on improving educational quality and developing students' engineering competencies. This initiative contributes to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by advancing the educational environment and preparing qualified engineering graduates capable of meeting labor market requirements and adapting to digital transformation. Al-Mustaqbal University continues its efforts to advance the educational process and strengthen innovation and integration between scientific knowledge and modern technological applications, reaffirming its position as the number one university among private universities in Iraq.
