Visit of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies to the Al-MustaqbalEnergy Research Center

Within the scientific activities of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technologies for the academic year-2026-2025 Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdulmohim visited the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Energy Research on Tuesday, 11/3/2025 The visit included reviewing the solar complexes manufactured in the center, as well as the solar panels and accessories and the method of storing energy in batteries. Wind turbines, the process of producing electrical energy and storage methods were also reviewed, in addition to the measuring devices used in the calculations of renewable energies. At the end of the visit, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering thanked the Director of the Center and all the staff of the Energy Research Center for their warm reception, scientific support and detailed explanation of the nature of the center s work.

Implementing a solar system in Babylon Governorate

As part of the Future Energy Research Center s efforts to promote reliance on renewable energy sources, a 15-kilowatt solar energy system was designed and implemented by the Energy Research Center s engineering staff, in cooperation with the Chinese company SSTDC. A visit from the Energy Center staff at Future University to the Energy Center on 40th Street

As part of our efforts to enhance the integration of scientific research and practical application in the field of renewable energy, the Renewable Energy Research Center team accompanied by the Center s Director, Dr. Silwan Obaid Waheed and the Center s Assistant Dr. Hassan Mowaffaq Ghani visited our advisory branch specialized in the sales and implementation of solar energy systems. The visit included a field tour to follow up the mechanism of work in the advisory branch, and discuss ways to develop cooperation between scientific research and practical applications, to ensure the provision of sustainable and effective energy solutions that serve the community and keep pace with the latest developments in this field

Visit of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Maitham Obaid to the Future Center for Energy Research

Visited m. dr. Mohammed Maytham Obaid, Department of Power Mechanical Engineering, Al-Mustaqbal Center for Energy Research at [Visition Date]. The visit aimed to see the devices available in the center s building, as well as measuring devices for solar and wind energy systems. During the visit, M. dr. Mohammed Maytham toured the various departments of the center, where he reviewed the technologies used in the field of renewable energy. Devices specializing in measuring the efficiency of solar energy systems, including solar panels and energy controllers, were reviewed. Wind speed meters and their characteristics, which are used to assess the feasibility of wind energy projects, were also discussed. This visit comes within the framework of enhancing cooperation between the different departments of the university, and exchanging experiences and knowledge in the fields of renewable energy and modern technologies. M. dr. Mohammed Maytham expressed his admiration for the Center s progress in energy research, and stressed the importance of continuing to develop these technologies to meet sustainable energy needs in the Al-Mustaqbal. Finally, Al-Mustaqbal cooperation was agreed between the Department of Power Mechanical Engineering and the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Energy Research, which contributes to enhancing scientific research and developing joint projects in this vital field.

Professor Dr. Salwan Obaid Wahid attends the renewable energy workshop.

Prof. Dr. Silwan Obaid Waheed, Director of the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center, attended the workshop organized by the European Energy Center, entitled Renewable Energy Solutions for Residential Buildings: An Online Lesson, which was held on March 8, 2025. Prof. Dr. Silwan received an Associate Certificate from the European Energy Center, where he completed the course focusing on strategies for the use of renewable energy in residential buildings. This participation comes within the framework of enhancing knowledge and skills in sustainable energy management and developing practical solutions to energy problems. This event is part of the Center s events to promote scientific research and knowledge sharing in the fields of renewable energy. We believe in the importance of such events in developing academic staff and promoting energy innovation.

Joint cooperation between Al-MustaqbalUniversity and Malaysian University of Technology (UM)

Joint cooperation between Al-Mustaqbal University and UM University Malaysia Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, a. dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, under the supervision of the Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technologies and the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Energy Research, held an electronic meeting in the presence of: Mr. Dean of the College, a. M. dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul and A. dr. Silwan Obaid Waheed. Director of the Center and Eng. dr. Hassan Mowaffaq Ghani, Assistant Director Harikrishnan Al Rahmiah for the Energy and Industry Research Center at UM Malaysia, which is one of the leading universities, ranking first in Malaysia and 60th globally according to the QS ranking. The cooperation mechanism between the two sides was discussed, where preliminary approval was reached on several topics, including: 1. Research cooperation: strengthening partnership in the fields of scientific research. 2. Joint supervision: exchange of experiences and supervision of research projects. Solutions to industry challenges: working to develop innovative solutions to industry challenges. The Center Director attends a qualitative workshop on QS international rankings.

The Director of the Center attends a qualitative workshop on QS global classifications. Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, and under the guidance of the Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, the Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Silwan Obaid Waheed, attended a qualitative workshop delivered by Mr. Rami Odeh, Regional Director of QS Ranking in the Middle East. On February 23, 2025. During his workshop, the lecturer touched on several topics, including the importance of universities entering the QS ranking by studying indicators related to education and teaching, infrastructure, and academic reputation. He stressed the need to internationalize academic reputation and openness to international educational institutions, pointing out that interaction with leading universities contributes to raising the level of education and scientific research. The lecturer added that the data collected on Al-Mustaqbal University confirms its continuous success in implementing the policies set by the university, where it has made remarkable progress in this classification, and ranked first among Iraqi universities. Higher education was a key pillar for sustainable development, and enhancing the quality of education and scientific research contributed to building an advanced knowledge society. This step comes within the Center s policy to ensure the strengthening of the university s position in the international rankings, through its partnerships with international universities. The pursuit of academic excellence is not just an goal, but an investment in the future of future generations, reflecting the University s commitment to equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to meet modern-day challenges.
