Expanding Arab Academic Partnerships: Al-Mustaqbal University Renews and Elevates Cooperation with Jordan's University of Petra

In line with Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategic vision, guided by Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, to foster robust academic partnerships across the Arab region, an official university delegation visited the University of Petra in Jordan to review, renew, and scale up the ongoing bilateral agreement. The delegation comprised Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Prof. Dr. Tareq Jawad Kazem, Director of Scientific Affairs. They were warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Faisal Abu Al-Rub, Vice President of the University of Petra, Dr. Nidal Hussein, Dean of Engineering, and Mr. Alaa Al-Din Arabiyat, Director of Public & International Relations. The discussions evaluated previous successful outcomes—including joint research publications, academic exchanges, and collaborative events. Al-Mustaqbal University Enters THE World University Rankings 2027.. A Milestone for Scientific and Research Excellence

In a historic academic achievement, Al-Mustaqbal University has officially entered the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027 (THE WUR) for the first time, securing top national positions: 1st Place among all private universities and colleges in Iraq. 2nd Place nationally (outside the Kurdistan Region). 4th Place overall among all public and private Iraqi universities, ranked within the (1201–1400) global tier out of 2,297 institutions worldwide. New Research Achievement Published in a Clarivate-Indexed Journal

Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center highlights a significant scientific contribution by one of its research team members, Dr.Saif Jamal AT Al-Mustaqbal University along with an international research team, titled: "A real time simulation of rule-based energy management system for PV array and battery bank using OPAL-RT with ARTEMIS technique" The paper has been officially published in Unconventional Resources by Elsevier (ScienceDirect), indexed in Clarivate / Web of Science. Research Overview & Impact: The study addresses one of the critical challenges in solar PV and microgrid systems: real-time energy management and optimal power distribution between photovoltaic arrays and battery storage systems. Using the advanced OPAL-RT real-time simulation hardware integrated with the ARTEMIS technique, the researchers developed and validated a robust rule-based energy management system. Key contributions include: Grid Stability: Maintaining seamless power flow during fluctuations in solar irradiance and dynamic load demands. Battery Longevity: Protecting battery banks from overcharging and deep discharging using intelligent control logic. Hardware-in-the-Loop Realism: Delivering real-world-accurate performance insights prior to physical deployment. Bridging Academics and Industry: Engineering Students Explore ITEX IRAQ 2026

In line with the directives of Al-Mustaqbal University's Presidency and under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Azher M. Abed, Dean of the Technical Engineering College, the college organized an educational field trip for its students to the International Information and Communications Technology Exhibition & Conference (ITEX IRAQ 2026) at Baghdad International Fairground. The field visit came following an official invitation from "Amwaj Al-Technologia for General Trading, Contracting, and Telecom Services." Accompanied by faculty members, students gained hands-on insight into cutting-edge technology solutions, next-generation telecommunication networks, and modern IT applications. Advancing Global Academic Mobility: Al-Mustaqbal University President Welcomes Science College Delegation Back from Razi University

To reinforce international academic collaboration and provide students with global practical exposure, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, received the student delegation from the Department of Forensic Evidence (College of Science) following their successful completion of an intensive training program at Razi University in Iran. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi commended the students for their outstanding representation and academic discipline. He highlighted the importance of international training in bridging theoretical knowledge with practical expertise, encouraging students to share their gains with their peers to maximize institutional impact. Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, emphasized that this initiative reflects the university’s active commitment to turning international agreements into tangible learning experiences that prepare students for the modern job market. The delegation comprised 12 students led by Prof. Dr. Dhargham Ali Abbas, Head of the Forensic Evidence Department, accompanied by Lecturer Dr. Maytham Nabeel Miqdad, Academic Coordinator and Rapporteur of the Smart Medical Systems Department. The program featured specialized hands-on modules and field laboratory activities. Operational Readiness and Calibration of Solar and Wind Energy Laboratory Equipment at the Future Energy Research Center

In preparation for the upcoming academic and research year, AL-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center at Al-Mustaqbal University conducted testing, calibration, and operational checks on its laboratory equipment, ensuring full readiness for conducting practical experiments and applied research. The preparation focused on testing educational and research setups dedicated to solar (photovoltaic) and wind energy experiments, verifying electrical wiring, mechanical structures, and solar simulator lighting, as well as calibrating measurement devices to guarantee accurate data collection and experiment reliability. These technical measures reinforce the Center's commitment to providing an advanced laboratory environment, enabling students and researchers to execute practical hands-on experiments in renewable energy technologies in alignment with academic quality standards
